Contacts Exclude Email Address?

Kristy Nov 28, 2015 09:04PM CST

I'm able to see my Contacts using iExplorer, both on the iPhone I have plugged into my Mac, as well as the various backups I have. All contacts are listed, however, for every single contact, all e-mail addresses are missing! It shows notes, phone numbers and mailing addresses, but not e-mail addresses (which is most important to me). I tried exporting to see if maybe they were just not appearing on iExplorer, but the exported contacts also have those values missing.

Any idea why that might be happening? I'm using iExplorer version

Were you possibly syncing these contacts with Microsoft Exchange? If so, we have heard reports of contacts missing emails and/or phone numbers when they have been synced with Exchange and is due to a security feature of Exchange where the information is meant to be confidential and secure.

Unfortunately, I do not have any workaround for this. iExplorer will at least transfer most contact information, and then you would need to manually copy over any missing email addresses.

I have just bought iExplorer to get my calendar entries and contacts back to my computer. The iPad before had been synched with OS X Server on another computer.
Now I have a very similar problem to the above: email addresses get only copied partially. If the email label is home or work, it gets transferred. If the label is email it disappears, also within iExplorer's view on the data. Also if two phone numbers or email addresses share the same label, e.g. 2 home phone numbers, only one is transferred, although both the source and the target application obviously can handle these. If custom labels are used even ten phone numbers transfer o.k.
A second problem is with birthdays: If the contact has a company and job title the birthday shows up directly in iExplorer correctly. If one of these is missing (actually most of my contacts) the birthday shows up in one of these fields inside iExplorer directly underneath the name, but it does not transfer at all to the Mac app.
If I have to reedit 800+ contacts the program is very close to useless and with such a specific tool I would actually expect that the fields of Apple's contact application on the both iPad and OS X can be properly matched.

@Torsten: Thanks for the additional detailed information. We’ll look into it and work on a fix for it.
