Does transferring iPhone voice memo's require two applications?
Step 1) iExplorer to move the large voice memo from the iPhone
Step 2) Adapter to convert the iPhone AMT file into a standard Windows playable file?
Are these both from Macroplant?

Do you mean voicemails (phone messages)? Voicemails are in the AMR format which is a format chosen by phone companies awhile ago, but Voice Memos (recorded in iOS Voice Memos app are in the M4A format).
