iPhone X internal storage not always visible but iExplorer shows all fine.

Unaccountably, iPhone X internal storage is sometimes missing the "DCIM" folder. Sometimes it is there, Sometimes I can obtain it by unplugging the USB and plugging it back in. Other times I bring up win10 PHOTOS, select import from USB, wait a few seconds for the folder to appear, then cancel out of "PHOTOS". In any event, iTunes is always present on the screen like itis supposed to, and iExplorer always finds the images, even when DCIM is missing from windows. I use copy and paste to fetch images from DCIM and they are always .JPG or .MOV. When exporting using your product I get HEIC which I cannot use unless converted to JPG.

When asking about this problem that the Apple forum, I get referred to Microsoft and their "photos" app. What is really strange is that sometimes DCIM shows up like ti is supposed to as soon as I plug in the iPhone and other times it does not and was wondering if anyone here could help me.
